The Mental Landscape series is a practice of painting from memory.  A practice where anything can arise.  Anything is allowed.  Surprise, surprise, surprise...  And so, a flower is not a flower, but a kaleidoscope of memories of tulips, peonies, and dahlias, catalyzing into a unique, imaginary plant.  A face is not the face of someone I love, but a collection of faces, gestures, expressions, and attitudes of my loved one.  Experience translates into impressions. Impressions are expressed in color and form.
